Aarctic Heating and Air Conditioning was founded in 1990 by Company President Kirk Hansen to provide Heating and cooling services to Everett, Bothel, Mukilteo, Brier, Lynnwood, Snohomish, Lk. Stevens, Marysville, Woodinville, Maltby. Kirk began his career in 1976 by joining the United States Navy and becoming part of the elite Submarine “silent service”. For seven (7) years, Kirk was an auxiliary machinist mate, where he operated and maintained (with his fellow shipmates), all of the submarine’s auxiliary equipment including; hydraulics, plumbing, air conditioning, refrigeration, diesel engines, pneumatic, sanitary and potable water systems.
With an honorable discharge in 1983, Kirk continued in the Naval Reserves and attended a two year technical education in heating, air conditioning and refrigeration technology. Kirk then transferred to Western Washington University in Bellingham Washington, where he attained his Bachelor of Science degree.
Upon graduating in the spring of 1988, Kirk worked for an industrial refrigeration company. Before long Kirk decided to combine his expertise in engineering with practical “hands on” experience and obtained his Journeyman refrigeration license from the city of Seattle.
Kirk holds numerous licenses and certificates in the State of Washington, which has allowed him to obtain the title of master electrician, administrator and a boiler operator license, which are necessary for his service to his customers. Kirk retired from the Naval Reserves as a Chief Warrant Officer 4 in the spring of 2005. Kirk continues to attend service trade seminars, lectures and conferences, to keep up with the latest trends in the heating, air condition and refrigeration trades.
